Painted by Jesse, a local muralist and proud Viera High School graduate, this series of murals brings life, identity, and energy to the heart of campus. Spanning gym interiors, exterior walls, and key student spaces, these works celebrate school pride and student legacy through bold color, dynamic motion, and hawk symbolism.
🎨 Mural 1: Gym Wall – “Hawks Wingspan”
Located inside the school gym, this mural transforms the word “HAWKS” into a commanding design with extended wings stretching wide across the wall.
- Features bold green and gold school colors
- Uses an athletic block font with sharp shadow and contrast
- Positioned just above the bleachers and championship banners
- Visually ties school pride and athletic history into one iconic centerpiece
🎨 Mural 2: Exterior Wall – “Soaring Hawk”
On the school’s outer facade, Jesse painted a hawk mid-flight, descending with power, talons extended, and cosmic yellow energy blazing behind it.
- A fiery golden sky swirls with black and green
- Realistic feather work contrasts with high-energy backdrop
- A reminder to students of focus, ambition, and personal growth
🎨 Mural 3: Senior Wall – “Senior Hawks”
Located beneath a covered stairway at the front of the school, this mural celebrates graduating classes with a dramatic hawk flying into a sunlit sky above the bold lettering: SENIOR HAWKS.
- Combines silver clouds, radiant yellow, and emerald green for impact
- Marks a place of celebration and tradition for seniors year after year
🎨 Mural 4: Hallway Wall – “The Watcher”
On a more intimate wall near the back classrooms, Jesse created an intense, stylized hawk bursting forward in motion, wings stretched and beak open in a powerful screech.
- Bold green backdrop with fluid motion in the feathers
- Raw emotion and energy captured in one expressive design
- Signed and dated by Jesse (’22), preserving the moment in time
🧠 Personal Significance:
This mural series is a deeply personal project for Jesse. As a former student of Viera High School in Brevard County, returning to paint these pieces was more than just a commission — it was a homecoming. Each mural not only enhances the campus visually but leaves a lasting legacy, reminding students daily of pride, strength, and possibility.
